Position Overview:
As a Golf Course Marshal at Edgewood Tahoe’s world-class golf course, you will ensure the smooth flow of play, enforce course policies, and enhance the overall experience for members and guests. The Marshal represents the golf course's standards of excellence, providing exceptional customer service while maintaining pace of play and course etiquette.
As a Golf Course Marshal at Edgewood Tahoe’s world-class golf course, you will ensure the smooth flow of play, enforce course policies, and enhance the overall experience for members and guests. The Marshal represents the golf course's standards of excellence, providing exceptional customer service while maintaining pace of play and course etiquette.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet golfers warmly, provide course information, and offer assistance as needed.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for golfers regarding course layout, rules, and policies.
- Address player inquiries, concerns, and special requests professionally.
- Monitor groups on the course to ensure an appropriate pace of play.
- Politely and professionally remind slow groups to improve pace when necessary.
- Enforce course policies, including dress code, cart usage, and general golf etiquette.
- Report course conditions, such as weather-related hazards or unplayable areas, to the appropriate staff.
- Provide updates to the Pro Shop regarding tee times, player status, and course conditions.
- Help maintain a positive, professional atmosphere for players and staff alike.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall success of the team and business.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, based on course needs.
- Strong knowledge of golf rules, etiquette, and course operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, approachable, and able to manage difficult situations with diplomacy.
- Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or golf course operations preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to safely lift, move, and stack items weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Able to perform physical tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
