Job Description
Summary
The Electronics Technician is responsible for building, testing, troubleshooting and repairing production electronic components, parts, equipment and systems such as computer equipment, test equipment and machine tool numerical controls. He applies principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, electronic and electrical testing and physics. Usually works under the direction of engineering staff.

Job Duties
Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings and engineering instructions
Apply knowledge of electronic theory and components
Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions
Work with manufacturers or field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts
Tests electronic units using standard test equipment
Analyze the results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment
Adjust or replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry or electronic components using hand tools or soldering iron
Make technical decisions
Participate in department training programs
Maintain up-to-date electronics knowledge and stay current with industry trends and best practices
The incumbent is responsible for the awareness, understanding, specific responsibilities and management of the Environmental Management System (EMS) as stated in EMS policy CEVPL.00005.
The incumbent is responsible for the awareness, understanding, specific responsibilities and management of the Quality Management System (QMS) as stated in CQAM.00001 – Corporate Quality Manual.
Requirements
Community College Diploma in Electronics Technology;
One to Three years experience in machine controls and PLC programming
Automation experience is required
Work experience with CADKey and PLC programming
Proven experience with Robotic troubleshooting and programming.
Work experience with pneumatic/ hydraulic controls, sensors and electrical hardware, and control wiring circuitry.
Demonstrated knowledge of required code for operation’s geographical area
Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
Able to apply right mathematical methods and formulas to problem solving
Able to create alternative solutions to problems
Excellent time management skills
High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning
Preferred previous experience working in Plating or Rectifiers
Working Conditions
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
Ability to physically implement designs
Overtime as required
May be exposed to construction sites
Mostly indoor but in manufacturing environment
Works around moving equipment including forklifts and overhead cranes
