Job Description

VCA Benicia Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Relief Veterinarian to join our fast-paced AAHA-accredited, 2-doctor small animal practice in Benicia, California.

VCA Benicia is a family-oriented, neighborhood practice that has provided high quality, compassionate care with excellent customer service since the 1970’s. Our clients are committed to providing the best care for their pets and very dedicated to the practice itself, with part of that being our willingness to take care of their urgent pet care needs. Wellness and client education are a big part of our practice. Community involvement is very important to our team, and we are busily building relationships with many local pet and shelter groups.

Our well-equipped facility is warm and welcoming. To provide excellent care we have in-house labs (including chemistries, i-stat, and a variety of SNAP tests), ultrasound, digital radiography, and oxygen cage. Digital dental radiographs are offered for every patient undergoing dental prophylaxis, and VCA’s CareClub provides a cost-effective solution to developing a strong preventative care relationship. Our well-trained and compassionate staff, as well as the VCA management team, are here to support you in providing the very best options for your clients.

We are located in the charming city of Benicia, minutes from bustling downtown Walnut Creek, and a short drive to many wonderful regional parks, Napa wine country, San Francisco, Berkeley, and Sacramento. Benicia is just a few hours from the rugged California coastline and the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

As a member of the VCA family, your passion for medicine and compassion for pets and people is matched with a commitment to your professional growth. Among the reasons to consider joining VCA are:
• Network of 4,500+ doctors, including more than 600 Specialists.
• Largest provider of Private Practice Internships and Residencies in the U.S.
• WOOF University, offering abundant CE for Doctors and Staff.
• Robust Clinical Studies program.
• Opportunities to give back through strong Shelter partnerships and VCA Charities.
