Acute Physical Therapist Assistant

BayCare is currently in search of our newest Acute Physical Therapist Assistant (POOL/PRN) who is passionate about providing outstanding customer service to our community. Winter Haven Hospital has an outstanding reputation for superior, patient-centered care. Physical Therapist Assistant Responsibilities:

• Implement physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Assist patients with exercises, mobility training, and therapeutic activities to improve strength, range of motion, and functional mobility.
• Monitor and document patient progress, responses to treatment, and communicate updates to the Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients and families on exercises and techniques for continued care and recovery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols within the hospital environment.

Qualifications:

• Required associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Or PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant) Temporary and licensure within 6 months.
• Required Current state licensure or eligibility as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• CPR certification (BLS required).
• Prior experience in an acute care or hospital setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing patient needs and schedules.
