Job Description
The Opportunity
The Graph team is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead one of our core engineering teams. You will own the team's results and culture while staying close to the architecture of the systems it builds. This role is ideal for a leader who is both people-focused and technically astute.
Project Graph is a new creative system that lets you combine first- and third-party AI models, Adobe tools, and custom interactive components inside a visual, designer-friendly node graph editor. Users connect nodes to build automated, repeatable creative workflows, and package them into Capsules — polished interfaces that let anyone apply a workflow without opening the editor. Graph runs everywhere, from the web to Adobe apps like Photoshop, and supports a growing community of tool creators.
What You'll Do
- Own the development life cycle end-to-end, tracking progress, surfacing risks and opportunities, and reporting to senior leadership.
- Provide architectural guidance and ensure solid technical direction, partnering with senior engineers on key design decisions, while coding is no longer your primary responsibility.
- Work closely with design, product, and program management to define priorities, user experience, roadmap, and schedule.
- Attract, hire, onboard, and retain exceptional engineers; mentor and grow them professionally and personally
- Champion engineering excellence and contribute to culture and process improvements across the broader Graph organization.
- Balance speed and quality, using a combination of data and instincts to make informed decisions and keep the team moving quickly.
- Navigate cross-team dependencies and collaborate with partner teams
- Cultivate a collaborative, high-trust environment that celebrates achievement and shared success, and contribute improvements beyond your own team.
What You Need to Succeed
- BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including a proven track record leading engineering teams to deliver high-quality software.
- Strong technical background and analytical ability, with the capacity to evaluate systems architecture and guide technical direction.
- Experience with node-based or visual programming systems, developer tooling, or extensibility systems is advantageous.
- A track record of developing, coaching, and mentoring engineers, and creating an environment that promotes growth and professional development.
- Ability to drive consensus on requirements, ensure timely decision-making, prioritize, and optimize scope and time.
- Passion for collaborating with design teams from concept to production, facilitating effective communication between engineers and designers.
- Ability to collaborate and adapt across different cultures, time zones, and work styles.
