Job Description
We’re looking for Shop Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our shop and support field service activities. This position provides operational leadership for equipment testing, inspection, inventory management, quality control, and asset lifecycle activities, including the disposition and decommissioning of non-repairable equipment. In this role you will coordinate personnel, equipment, and resources, promote a culture of safety and accountability, and serve as a key link between shop operations, field services, and project teams.
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule shop and field service operations, including testing, maintenance, repair, and commissioning
- Perform and oversee electrical testing, troubleshooting, inspections, and equipment evaluations
- Manage inbound inspections of equipment, components, and materials, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to quality standards
- Review test results, inspection reports, and service documentation for accuracy and final approval
- Oversee inventory control, including the tracking, storage, maintenance, and utilization of equipment, tools, and materials
- Coordinate the allocation and movement of inventory and shop assets to support operational and project requirements
- Manage equipment lifecycle activities, including decommissioning and disposal of obsolete, surplus, or non-repairable assets
- Collaborate with field teams, project managers, vendors, and clients to support efficient operations and service delivery
- 5 years of experience in shop operations, field services, electrical testing, equipment maintenance, manufacturing, utility services, or a related technical environment
- Minimum of two years of experience leading and supervising teams
- Knowledge of inventory management, equipment tracking, asset control, and warehouse or shop operations
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and compliance with applicable safety policies and procedures
- Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn company software systems
- Willingness to travel up to 75% across the continental U.S.
- Valid driver’s license
- Must successfully complete a background check and pre-employment/random drug tests
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Available for extended and irregular hours as needed
- Able to work outdoors in all weather, at heights (100+ ft), in confined spaces, and around high-voltage equipment and heavy machinery
- Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and enduring extended physical activity
- Requires good vision, hearing, and English proficiency for safe, effective communication in noisy environments
- NETA, NICET, OSHA 30, or equivalent industry certifications
