Huawei Canada has an immediate 12-month contract opening for a Technology Ecosystem & Academic Relations Lead.
About the team:
The Technology Planning and Cooperation Department promotes strategic innovation across all of Huawei Canada. Working with fellow experts, the focus is researching new and upcoming areas of technology as well as strategic planning to help achieve long term vision of Huawei. This department offers a unique opportunity to leverage both technical and business skills.
About the job:
Build and maintain the institute’s external technology network across universities, research labs, enterprise research groups, open-source communities, startups, and industry organizations.
Identify key professors, researchers, architects, engineers, founders, open-source maintainers, and product leaders. Build expert profiles, institution maps, technology landscape maps, and collaboration pipelines.
Help the institute enter higher-quality technology circles and research communities.
Identify and analyze key industry trends by attending major conferences, summits and Exhibitions spanning AI research, Systems architecture, Computing and semiconductor, Product and device, and open-source ecosystems.
Design and organize technical workshops, seminars, closed-door roundtables, and expert visits. Identify and invite high-quality speakers from academia, industry, startups, and open-source communities.
Convert each workshop into expert relationships, technical insights, and potential collaboration opportunities.
Convert fragmented external information into useful internal intelligence.
Identify and move forward collaboration opportunities around the institute’s strategic research directions.
The total target annual compensation (based on 2,080 hours per year) ranges from $127,000 to $225,000 depending on education, experience, and demonstrated expertise.
