Job Title:

Job Summary:

Oversee 24/7 command center for med-com operations and capacity command ensuring timely transport, admissions, transfers, and discharges across all points of entry (ED, OR, clinics, and external facilities).

Education & Experience

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) experience, including two (2) years in a supervisory or leadership role.

Certifications, Licenses, or Registration required:

Valid RN license or MS Paramedic. Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Resuscitation Program (NRP), National Incident Management System (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS) 100 200, 700, and 800. Must obtain MS-Critical Care Paramedic (CCP) within two (2) years of hire.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Responsibilities

  • Direct the 24/7 command center for med-com and capacity command operations
  • Foster strong stakeholder collaboration with physicians, nursing, administrative teams, and external partners to promote seamless communication, expedite problem-solving, and align on shared goals for med-com, emergency preparedness, transport and hospital capacity
  • Drive operational excellence through process redesign and the application of process improvement methodologies to improve patient transport, emergency preparedness, reduce length of stay (LOS), eliminate delays in care, and improve clinical and financial outcomes.
  • Provides direction and planning for the development of the med-com system with the Mississippi wireless integrated network and collaborates with leadership to facilitate the growth and external services of Mississippi Med-Com and air/ground transport.
  • Leverage advanced analytics and IT infrastructure to enable real-time data visualization, predictive modeling, and decision support tools that enhance placement decisions and capacity management.
  • Maintains scope, budget and schedule integrity though direct management of the med-com and capacity command team, including development and oversight of project management, resource management, cost management, contract management, and communications management.

Requires occasional exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional travelling to offsite locations, constant activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, constant work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds, occasional driving, frequent reaching, constant sitting, frequent standing, occasional twisting, and constant walking (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more).
