$17.09 - $21.36JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for providing customer service to citizens; performing facility maintenance; maintaining surveillance over the Lake Reservoir and surrounding areas; and, performing and implementing special events, such as, public events, facility rentals and special meetings.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Perform facility maintenance, such as, lake clean-ups, general lake and park maintenance and minor dock repair.
- Perform a variety of customer service activities including program registration by registering citizens for activities and receiving money, assisting with responding to customer inquiries, and assisting with reservations of related to parks facilities and special events as needed.
- Patrol and maintain surveillance over the Lake Arlington Reservoir and surrounding areas to provide a safe environment for visitors, lake patrons, including the ability to respond quickly in an emergency situation
- Issue citations and verbal warnings to citizens for violations of the Lake Chapter.
- Perform and implement programs, such as, public events, facility rentals, and special meetings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of water and boating safety practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of event services industry standards.
- Knowledge of general office and facility management to ensure a safe and productive experience for users and customers.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Skill in utilizing Microsoft, including but not limited to, Office, Excel, and Outlook.
- Skill in managing multiple priorities.
- Skill in mathematical calculations.
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
- Ability to apply appropriate interpersonal skills with the public and city staff to maintain positive relationships.
- Ability to give accurate data and record keeping on production for future reference/records.
- Ability to maintain the cleanliness and safe condition of the work site.
- Ability to operate a variety of office equipment, including but not limited to, a personal computer, telephone, fax machine, calculator, etc.
- Ability to perform a variety of physical skills, including but not limited to, seeing, bending, stooping, walking standing, writing, and carrying.
- Ability to operate a motorized vehicle and a boat.
- Ability to lift or exert forces equivalent to lifting up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to pull debris floating in the lake up to 200 lbs by using construction equipment and/or vehicles.
- Ability to work in an indoor/outdoor environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Incumbent is subject to fume/odor, dust/mites, chemical and mechanical hazards.
Qualifying Education and Experience:
- A High School Diploma OR GED, plus six (6) months related technical experience.
- One year of college preferred.
- Incumbent must obtain a Boater Safety Card within six (6) months of employment.
- Possession of a Valid Texas Driver License, Class C.
