We are looking for a Procurement Manager – European E-Commerce to join our Logistics & Services Procurement organization.
This role will focus on shaping the commercial procurement strategy for our e-commerce last mile carrier ecosystem across Europe, supporting the business with competitive, scalable and product-relevant carrier solutions.
The Opportunity
As Procurement Manager, you will act as a strategic procurement partner for Maersk E-Commerce in Europe, with a focus on last mile carriers, parcel delivery partners and related e-commerce delivery solutions.
You will lead sourcing initiatives, commercial negotiations and supplier frameworks that directly impact cost competitiveness, customer proposition, win rates, GP performance and scalability.
You will use market knowledge, carrier insights, volume consolidation opportunities and product requirements to secure better commercial conditions and identify new partnership models.
The role requires a strong understanding of the e-commerce parcel market, but also the ability to connect procurement decisions with product strategy, network opportunities, operational feasibility and customer needs.
What You’ll Be Doing
E-Commerce Procurement
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for European e-commerce last mile and parcel delivery services
- Lead sourcing initiatives, tenders, RFQs and commercial negotiations with parcel carriers, postal operators and selected delivery partners
- Build scalable commercial frameworks that support growth, cost competitiveness and service reliability across European markets
- Negotiate rates, commercial terms, capacity commitments and service conditions aligned with business and customer needs
Carrier Partnerships & Business Alignment
- Work closely with Product, Operations, Network, Commercial, Finance and Carrier Management teams to understand business priorities and market requirements
- Translating business and product needs into procurement opportunities and stronger supplier propositions
- Support the development of new delivery models and partnership opportunities, including injection points, sorting solutions, out-of-home delivery, returns and other e-commerce capabilities
- Use operational, service and performance insights to strengthen supplier discussions and improve commercial outcomes
Cost, Service & Scalability Optimisation
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery cost, service competitiveness and scalability across European markets
- Support volume consolidation opportunities across countries, customers and lanes to strengthen Maersk’s position with delivery partners
- Contribute to product and network discussions by bringing procurement, supplier and market insights
- Assess supplier proposals based on price, coverage, service quality, scalability, operational fit and customer value
Market Intelligence & Benchmarking
- Build strong knowledge of the European parcel, last mile and out-of-home delivery landscape
- Benchmark rates, service models, carrier capabilities and market trends across key European countries
- Identify opportunities to improve competitiveness through new suppliers, improved commercial terms or alternative partnership models
- Bring external market insight into procurement, product and commercial decision-making
Supplier Governance & Stakeholder Management
- Support structured supplier governance from a commercial and procurement perspective
- Ensure proper contract management, commercial compliance and documentation of agreed terms
- Work with Finance and business stakeholders to quantify savings, business impact and value creation from procurement initiatives
- Act as a trusted procurement partner for the European E-Commerce business
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 5+ years’ experience in procurement, logistics, parcel, carrier sourcing, e-commerce logistics or transport procurement
- Strong understanding of European last mile, parcel delivery, postal networks or e-commerce logistics
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing, RFQs, carrier negotiations and supplier contract management in a multi-country, matrix environment
- Strong commercial and analytical mindset, with the ability to link procurement to revenue, GP, customer proposition and product competitiveness
- Ability to analyze rates, volumes, cost drivers and service models, and support decisions with data-driven insights
- Skilled in balancing cost, service, scalability, operational feasibility and customer promise
- Strong stakeholder management skills across Procurement, Product, Operations, Carrier Management, Network, Sales and Finance, with a structured, proactive and pragmatic approach
- Fluent in English (additional European languages are a plus) with strong proficiency in MS Office and experience with procurement/BI/TMS or e-commerce platforms
