Job Description

At Qualitrol in Fairport, NY, the Production Supervisor oversees daily manufacturing operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe production while meeting quality standards and production targets 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise Production Activities: Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality specifications 

  • Team Leadership: Manage, train, and motivate production workers; foster a positive, productive work environment 

  • Quality Control: Monitor processes to meet quality standards; implement corrective actions when needed 

  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, conduct inspections, and provide safety training 

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiency gains, reduce waste, and lead continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen events)

  • Inventory Management: Track raw materials and finished goods; coordinate with procurement for timely material availability 

  • Reporting: Maintain production data records; prepare and submit reports to the Plant Manager 

  • Problem-Solving: Address and resolve production issues promptly to minimize disruptions 

  • Communication: Serve as a liaison between management and production staff, ensuring clear communication of goals, changes, and updates 

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred 

  • Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency with manufacturing software/tools 

  • Knowledge: Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 

Work Context

  • Shift: A Shift (Team hours 7 AM - 3:30 PM) 

  • Environment: Fast-paced manufacturing plant with a culture of continuous improvement, autonomy, and collaboration 

  • Impact: Responsible for safety, quality, cost, delivery, and schedule goals; may establish new production cells and lead training
