Position Summary
The Regional Community Business Development Officer leads and executes strategies that align with regional goals and objectives related to identifying sales opportunities and the acquisition of new clients, while retaining and maximizing existing customer relationships through promotion and sales of TRB’s brand, culture, products, and services. The position will collaborate with regional and market presidents to lead initiatives that support the bank’s internal development and engagement needs, including direct sales of bank products and services including but not limited to loans, deposits, treasury management and fee-based business. The position will lead and develop regional business development and community and employee engagement goals and ensure that all identified opportunities are actively pursued in a timely manner. This position will serve as a sales champion for the region and will develop and support region-wide sales initiatives and business development strategies with Corporate Management and Regional and Executive Leadership to achieve results-based goals.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Work directly with the Executive Management and Regional and Market Leadership to identify Lending, Mortgage, Wealth Management, Insurance, Credit Card, Treasury Management, Merchant Services and other opportunities.
- Manage regular region-wide sales and business development activity, including strategies that promote consistent engagement with prospects and current clients.
- Be well versed in the Bank’s core and ancillary products and services to promote product awareness and manage calling efforts on consumer and commercial prospects.
- Maintain an active and visible role by representing TRB at bank and community engagements that offer sales and business development opportunities and maximize TRB’s exposure in the communities we serve.
- Oversee the development of regional sponsorships and community engagement strategies, to ensure investments are aligned with TRB’s corporate mission, make good financial sense, drive revenue and is purpose driven.
- Produce monthly reports for Executive Management and Regional Leadership.
- Partner with Executive Management and Regional leadership to execute region-specific events, strategies, tactics, and other projects as needed.
Other Responsibilities
- Collaborate regularly with internal partners and executives across the organization.
- Support and promote the Bank’s vision, mission and core values, organizational structure and policies and procedures.
- Provide a strong and visible leadership, which fosters positive attitudes and trust among employees, customers, and prospects.
- Ensure appropriate employee representation at bank and community events.
- Comply with federal and state regulations as well as all established Bank policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and Experience Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in business development, sales and/or sales management experience in the banking/financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of business processes, bank products, services, and language are essential.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills with proven ability to work well under pressure.
- Highly focused, able to rapidly determine key priorities, clearly communicate the priorities and ensure resources are properly aligned.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary for maintaining effective relationships with Board members, executives, employees, partners and clients.
- Communication and influencing skills for establishing credibility with partners, clients, and executives.
- Positive attitude, self-motivator, and goal-oriented with the ability to foster strong relationships.
- Must be able to be physically present in the Bank to perform job duties.
