
Senior Manager, Internal Communications
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Internal Communications to build and lead a comprehensive internal communications program for our global Firm. This is a strategic and operational role responsible for establishing an internal communications infrastructure, channels and content that foster connectivity and knowledge sharing across the partnership and throughout the organization. This role requires a seasoned leader who balances diplomatic stakeholder management and strategic thinking with hands-on execution and stellar writing skills; skillfully navigates the complexities of a global partnership; and develops scalable, phased solutions that reflect our commitment to client confidentiality and information security.
In this newly-created role, you’ll report to the Head of Communications & Brand and work closely with the Chief of Staff to the Firm’s Chairperson and senior leaders across Operations, Legal Talent, Human Resources, and Client Development & Engagement to create programs and assets that strengthen engagement, support organizational change and advance the Firm’s strategic business objectives. You’ll build on existing channels for partners and professional staff and will help shape the design and adoption of a new Firm intranet, in collaboration with the Knowledge & Innovation team.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic internal communications
Design and implement communications plans and best practices that promote partner connectivity, support cross-selling and keep partners informed about key milestones
Support priority leadership groups, with an initial focus on three cohorts:
Chair & Executive Committee — support development of communications to keep partners informed, invite engagement and reinforce strategic priorities
Executive Leadership Team (ELT) — promote intra-ELT communications in collaboration with practice directors; equip practices and offices with guidance, templates, and toolkits to communicate updates and foster connection
Department Chiefs — bring cohesion and best practices to EP and all-Firm communications about key department news and milestones
Operationalizing internal communications
Develop communication approaches that reflect the needs and expectations of different audiences: equity partners, all partners, lawyers and professional staff
Partner with the marketing technology team to analyze content engagement data, identify trends and inform future plans
Balance information sharing with a keen awareness of confidentiality and information security, develop thoughtful approaches to managing risks related to sensitive and/or confidential communications
Work with the Knowledge & Innovation team to provide input on intranet redesign; work across departments to assess and improve existing content, develop new content and formats, and establish governance frameworks to help maintain the integrity and consistency of intranet content
Qualifications
10+ years of internal communications experience, preferably in top global law firms or other elite professional services organizations
Demonstrated success building and scaling communications programs, including developing strategy, implementing process, and managing stakeholder relationships
Proven ability to serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing strategic counsel while navigating complex organizational dynamics
Experience with at-scale technology implementations and/or change management initiatives
Track record of managing and developing teams while balancing multiple priorities
Skills & Competencies
Exceptional diplomatic skills with the ability to navigate sensitive leadership and team dynamics and differing points of view
Strategic thinker who can develop long-term plans and scalable systems with a pragmatic, phased approach to implementation
Comfort operating as both strategist and executor — equally capable of setting direction and rolling up sleeves
Working knowledge of AI including applications, platforms, benefits, risks, and the state of the debate about usage in legal and business contexts
Superior written and verbal communication skills, with ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences
Analytical mindset; comfort using data to inform decisions and demonstrate impact

Salary Information
NY Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $220,000 to $250,000 at the time of posting.
The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
