The Role
The Infrastructure Project Manager will manage the infrastructure design and delivery of construction projects for national law and justice agencies.

The role will also support and coordinate the implementation of the Infrastructure and Equipment Fund (IEF). The scale and type of infrastructure and equipment within the criteria of the APLJ IEF ranges from:

a) New Infrastructure: up to K7 million.

b) New Infrastructure: Special Projects (to a maximum of 2 complementary projects) up to K10 million.

c) New Equipment supply: up to K900,000.

d) Refurbishment of existing facilities - K1 million.

e) Small Scale IT equipment to facilitate improved reporting and accountability

About You

Qualifications

· A relevant tertiary qualification, preferably Bachelor of Civil/Structural Engineering, Bachelor of Architecture, Bachelor of Construction Management /Technology or any construction related discipline is required.

· Certification in program/project management (including but not limited to PMP, PMI-CP, or other similar certifications) is required.

· Certified engineers are welcome to apply, but it is not a minimum requirement for the role.

Essential Experience and Knowledge

· A minimum of 10 years demonstrated experience in construction and/or project management

· Recent experience in program and project management, design management, construction supervision, documentation, and contract administration, Experience working with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) or other development assistance program, preferred as a high-level understanding and application of architectural and engineering design processes and associated documentation and deliverable requirements.

· Adequate understanding of construction contract legislation terms for Papua New Guinea.

· Experience delivering donor-funded development programs, preferably in PNG or similar contexts.

Preferred Experience and Knowledge

· Ability to work effectively with government counterparts, technical advisers, and stakeholders in challenging environments.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and reporting skills.

· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

· Some knowledge and I or understanding of applying GEDSI and safeguards principles.

Personal Attributes

· Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to modify language appropriately when addressing audiences where English is not the first language

· Ability to work under pressure and, at times meet multiple deadlines

· Ability to work individually and as part of a team

· Flexibility and adaptability to work with multiple stakeholders across diverse cultures

· Ability to work in challenging social, cultural and/or geographic situations
