Job Description

The DSD Manager of Analytics is responsible for driving data driven decision making across the Direct Store Delivery organization. This role translates complex operational, sales, and financial data into actionable insights that improve route execution, distributor performance, sales productivity, service levels, and profitability.

The position partners closely with DSD leadership, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, IT, Sales Planning and Distributor partners to optimize route to market strategies, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

 

Analytics & Insights

  • Develop and maintain analytics frameworks to support DSD performance management, including sales, volume, revenue, margin, sales planning
  • Analyze route efficiency, store coverage, order frequency, drop size, and service models
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities related to Demand Planning effectiveness, distributor effectiveness, and market execution.
  • Lead root cause analysis for underperformance and recommend corrective actions

Distributor & Route Performance

  • Create scorecards and KPIs to monitor distributor demand forecast compliance, execution quality, and financial outcomes
  • Evaluate distributor against operational standards
  • Support distributor planning with data driven forecast reviews from customer executives aligning operational plans to support forecasts/demand plans.

Reporting & Dashboards

  • Design and own automated dashboards and reporting tools for DSD leadership.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across systems
  • Translate technical outputs into clear business narratives for executive audiences

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, IT, and Revenue Growth Management teams
  • Serve as analytics subject matter expert for DSD related systems and data
  • Support field leadership with insights to improve execution consistency and results

DSD & Commercial Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of Direct Store Delivery business models
  • Knowledge of: 
    • Distributor operations
    • Field sales execution and merchandising
    • Demand Planning Forecast accuracy
  • Experience within CPG, food & beverage, or beverage alcohol industries preferred

Analytical & Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in: 
    • Excel (advanced formulas, modeling)
    • SQL or data querying tools
    • Business Intelligence platforms (Power BI, etc.)
  • Experience with large, complex data sets and multiple source systems
  • Knowledge of ERP, DSD, or order to cash systems strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in data mining and forecasting.
  •  Ability to identify issues and implement solutions.

Business & Financial Acumen

  • Ability to connect analytics to P&L impact
  • Experience building business cases and financial models
  • Strong understanding of cost drivers and profitability levers in DSD

Communication & Influence

  • Exceptional ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights
  • Strong executive level presentation and storytelling skills
  • Comfortable influencing without authority across internal teams and external distributors
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work across teams.
  •  Ability to manage multiple tasks to ensure timely execution.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field
  • 5 to 8+ years of experience in analytics, commercial insights, or DSD related roles
  • Experience managing analytics projects and/or mentoring analysts preferred
