Position Overview

The EHS Engineer is responsible for leading and advancing environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance and foster a strong culture of safety and sustainability. This role partners cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement and support operational excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities

Environmental Management

  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental regulations
  • Conduct audits and assessments; implement corrective actions
  • Lead initiatives to reduce waste, conserve resources, and improve sustainability

Health & Safety

  • Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and training programs
  • Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and hazard identification
  • Investigate incidents and implement preventive measures
  • Promote a proactive, safety-first culture across the organization

Regulatory Compliance

  • Monitor and interpret EHS regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA)
  • Support inspections, audits, and permitting activities
  • Maintain accurate compliance documentation and reporting

Training & Engagement

  • Deliver EHS training and ensure employee awareness of responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and support on EHS-related matters
  • Encourage employee participation in safety initiatives

Continuous Improvement

  • Track and analyze EHS performance metrics (KPIs)
  • Identify risks and opportunities; implement corrective actions
  • Drive ongoing improvements in safety and environmental performance

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of EHS experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and related regulations
  • Proven ability to lead initiatives and influence across teams
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

 

Certifications

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification preferred
