Title: PA Lehigh Valley Career Counselor
Classification: Non-Exempt
Salary: $53,000
Scope of Position
Provide individualized support and direct assistance to program participants in all areas related to gaining and/or retaining employment and career advancement.
Essential Functions
Counsels, motivates and encourages assigned caseload of participants to develop and guide through a customized career pathway, training opportunities, and barrier mitigation to achieve successful placement outcomes
Build a professional one-on-one working relationship with participants to aid in eliminating challenges to obtaining and retaining employment. This includes: assessment, individualized attention and coordination and providing referrals to appropriate community service or social service agencies when needed
Maintain and document all participant interactions, contacts, activities, in case notes, and files to ensure that regularly scheduled contacts are made as required
Provide accurate and timely submission of required program data to ensure real-time reporting needs are met
Accurately complete required documentation for enrollment and develop and maintain a customized service plan to align with participant employment and training goals
Follow-up with partner agencies to ensure successful engagement in prescribed support services
Perform outreach to support participant engagement through off-site appointments to employers, satellite site locations, and community visits
Provide consistent and comprehensive case management throughout program engagement to monitor participant activities Maintain organized tracking of clients
Maintain detailed documentation of all contacts in the state’s system of record per contact requirements
Coordinate participant retention services and accommodate participant work schedules.
Provide status updates and develop goal planning sessions with appropriate program staff

Education and Experience Requirements
Case management experience preferred.
Attention to detail and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required
Bachelor's degree in education, training, human resources, social services or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals and demonstrate a positive professional attitude
Must have good driving record and reliable transportation.
Experience in a team-oriented environment
Bi-lingual skills highly preferred or experience working with ESL populations a plus
