Job Summary

Counsel and advise children, adolescents and their families with behavioral health concerns including mood disorders, anxiety, school refusal, family conflict and trauma. May counsel individuals, families, or groups or engage in prevention programs. Provide support, training and education to mental/behavioral health care and case management staff as needed.

Essential Functions
• Individual, family and group counseling utilizing evidence-based treatments such as DBT, CBT and ACT.
• Collaborate with team members to develop and execute a multi-disciplinary treatment plan.
• Collaborate with community partners to coordinate care.
• Evaluate children and adolescents at risk for harm to self or others and triggers to these behaviors.
• Complete documentation using Epic, an electronic medical record.
• Ensure safe discharge including referral to other levels of care, safety planning and ensuring aftercare appointments.
• Participate in staff meetings.
• Train new staff as needed.
• Understanding and maintaining the confidential nature of all client and program related activities.

Education
Master's Degree Related Field of Study required

Licensed Clinical Social Worker [LCSW - MA] - preferred

Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker [LICSW - MA] - preferred

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist [MA] - preferred

Licensed Mental Health Counselor [LMHC - MA] - preferred

Licensed Mental Health Counselor [LMHC - MA] - preferred

Experience
Demonstrated experience working successfully with people of various backgrounds and lifestyles in a manner that engages on-going self-reflection and continual learning preferred.

Experience negotiating, advocating, and navigating systems preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrates proficient clinical judgment and application of professional values and ethics. Integration of prior clinical experience into current practice.
- Demonstrates proficiency to formulate assessment of risks, crisis intervention, psychosocial assessments, treatment plans, and the documentation of both in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates proficient working knowledge of internal and external resources and refers appropriately.
- Ability to advocate , coordinate, and continuously communicate with treatment plans with patients, family and the interdisciplinary team.
- Utilizes supervision and consultation regularly and appropriately.
- Engages in quality improvement projects, uses data to measure progress.
- Facilitate skill-based groups.
- Demonstrate capacity to effectively communicate findings with a broader audience.
