About the Role:

The Panela Processing Associate LV2 plays a critical role in the production and quality assurance of panela, a traditional unrefined whole cane sugar product. This position is responsible for overseeing the processing stages, ensuring that raw materials are handled efficiently and that the final product meets stringent quality standards. The associate will collaborate closely with the production team to optimize processing techniques and maintain equipment functionality. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are paramount to guarantee product consistency and workplace safety. Ultimately, this role contributes to delivering a high-quality, authentic panela product to the market while supporting sustainable and efficient production practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in food processing or manufacturing environments, preferably with sugar or similar products.
  • Basic understanding of machinery operation and safety protocols.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records.
  • Physical capability to perform manual tasks and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience specifically in panela or sugar processing.
  • Familiarity with quality control procedures and food safety standards such as HACCP.
  • Technical training or certification related to food production or machinery operation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Bilingual skills, particularly Spanish, to facilitate communication in diverse teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor panela processing machinery to ensure smooth and efficient production flow.
  • Inspect raw sugarcane and intermediate products for quality and consistency throughout the processing stages.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the processing area to comply with regulatory and company policies.
  • Document production data, including batch records and quality control results, to support traceability and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to identify and resolve equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.

Skills:

The required skills enable the associate to operate processing equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring that production targets and quality standards are consistently met. Attention to detail is essential for monitoring product quality and documenting production data accurately. Communication skills facilitate effective collaboration with team members and maintenance personnel to address operational challenges. Preferred skills such as knowledge of food safety standards and technical training enhance the associate's ability to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and maintain compliance. Additionally, bilingual abilities support clear communication in diverse work environments, promoting teamwork and operational efficiency.
