Under limited supervision, performs a variety of inventory related functions to include auditing system transactions, reconciliation, and analysis for completion and/or corrective action to close system transactions; may be assigned to perform warehouse functions such as receiving materials, stocking materials and issuing stock items on a limited basis.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs physical inventory, reconciliation, and recommends corrective action.
- Researches and audits inventory system transactions, reconciles, and performs data entry corrections and maintains the Cycle Count and Adjustments filing system.
- Performs quality control checks on all procedures and systems relating to system data entry performance. Including serialized tracking of parts, and processing Warranty Shipping Notices.
- Prepares, maintains files and distributes detail records accurately documenting inventory transactions.
- Prepares a variety of reports for management review on a daily and monthly basis. Also prepares reports for Obsolete/Surplus and acutioned items.
- Ensures locator system is accurate, reorder points are monitored frequently and adjusted to maintain stock levels to support end user demands.
- Verify Contract Spare Parts are received to insure the correct part and quantity.
- Performs a variety of duties to assist inventory the inventory planning function.
- Coordinates with peers to plan and resolve issues to insure effective delivery of (5 Star) service to customers inclusive of DARTs Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Performs other relate duties as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.
- High school or general education (GED) diploma.
- Four (4) years related materials management or inventory control experience.
- Written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels, both inside and outside of DART.
- Operates non-revenue vehicles, forklift and mechanized/non-mechanized equipment such as hand dolly, stepladder, etc.
- Proficient using personal computer and software applications to include word processing, spreadsheet, and on-line inventory data base.
- Valid Texas Drivers License. No Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) conviction within the last 60 consecutive months; not more than one (1) on driving record. No more than three (3) moving violation convictions within last 36 months.
- Must be capable to train and operate a computer based information system (hardware & software), electronic scale, bar code and all Microsoft window applications, e-mail system, etc.
- Analytical skills to perform complex analysis of inventory transactions and data base information.
- Ability to demonstrate a fiduciary obligation to section, division, department, and DART in handling materials and information of a confidential nature.
- Ability to step-up and take the initiative to address problems and needs that may require going beyond normal responsibilities; willing to go the extra mile to meet customer needs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in an environment where there is exposure to dust, noise, or temperature. May be exposed to unpleasant working conditions to include dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals, assuming incumbent is observing all policies and procedures, safety precautions and regulations, and using all protective clothing and devices provided. Incumbent may be required to climb to heights of 30 feet utilizing, stairs, ladders, and/or forklift devices. Incumbent may be subject to background and credit checks.
