Perma-Pipe in Vars, Ontario Canada is hiring General Labourers
We’re looking for energetic and dependable General Labourers to support our growing business.
Perma-Pipe Canada, Ltd. is a dynamic, global supplier of pipe coating solutions and factory pre-insulated piping systems serving the oil & gas, district heating and cooling, and industrial markets. With a strong focus on quality, safety, and innovation.
The role is situated in Vars, Ontario Canada and is not a remote or hybrid position.
Essential Job Functions
General Duties
- Perform multiple tasks within the pipe coating processing plant.
- Operate panels to ensure pipe coating process remains constant.
- Assist in the foam application process.
- Assist in maintenance of foam equipment, inspect foam coating.
- Assist in shutdowns and startups.
- Assist Forklift Operators in loading and offloading pipes.
- Perform pipe rack construction and maintenance.
- Assist in preparation for truck loading and offloading.
- Participate in safety/toolbox meetings.
- Participate in on-the-job training and any additional training.
- Maintain proper housekeeping in assigned work area.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools, equipment and procedures utilized with all coating types – a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions which are applicable to the work – a plus but not required.
- Ability to work overtime.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test.
- Experience a plus – but NOT required.
Physical Demands
- Raise/lower or move objects horizontally.
- Frequent wrist/hand motions.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
- Ability to respond quickly to sounds.
- Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- Visual acuity required for accuracy and thoroughness of work.
- Standing/walking for more than 90% of shift, including long distances.
- Ability to work in extreme weather.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing and industrial setting.
- Exposure to hazards associated with electrical and industrial trade work.
- Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toed boots, safety glasses/goggles, and other safety gear.
- Overtime may be required.
- Active industrial shop with exposure to dust, noise, varying temperatures, and heavy machinery.
- Frequent use of PPE including gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and dust masks as required.
Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
