Position Overview: The Inventory Control Specialist I is responsible for maintaining accurate information on inventory levels throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs inventory cycle counts.
- Identifies and reconciles minor discrepancies when discovered.
- Escalates major discrepancies as needed.
- Works with department managers to maintain accurate inventory information.
- Responsible for directing the flow of damaged merchandise.
- Works closely with other departments to facilitate issue resolution.
- Serves as back-up for at least one other area of focus within the Inventory Control department.
- Runs and shares predefined daily and weekly reports.
- Maintains nonconformances and works closely with other departments to facilitate issue resolution.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures and operates all equipment in a safe and food-safe manner.
- Complies with Bob’s Red Mill food safety policies and procedures including adherence to FDA regulations, Safe Quality Food (SQF) Standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Responsible for reporting food safety and quality concerns to Supervisors and/or Department Manager.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
- None.
- This position reports to the Production Supervisor and Packaging Manager.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to run and communicate reports effectively.
- Possesses effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in using ERP and supporting software.
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
- Working proficiency with computers and basic software.
- Proficiency with job-related tools and equipment.
- Proficient in using Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate information in English.
- Demonstrates Respect, Teamwork, Accountability, and Determination.
- Ability to work in an environment where exposure to potential food allergens is or may be present.
- 1 or more years of experience in the food packaging industry, AND
- High school diploma or equivalent; OR
- Any combination of education and additional years of experience that provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and ability to perform assigned tasks.
- Must have or be able to obtain forklift certification.
- Frequently requires the ability to lift and stack products weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Occasionally requires the ability to lift and stack products weighing up to 55 pounds.
- Position may require standing for up to 4 hours at a time.
- Position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- The primary work environment for this position is within a food manufacturing and warehouse setting.
- Use of personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to, helmets, eye protection, earplugs, and hairnets are mandatory, and the use of non-slip shoes is recommended.
