Job Description

Role: Specialist Physiotherapist

Location: The Wellington Hospital, London

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full time at 37.5 hours per week between Monday-Friday, contributing to weekends, lates and on-call on a rota basis

Shifts: 7.5 hour shifts (9am-5pm and/or 8am-4pm), and late shift until 7pm once every 1-2 weeks

Salary Range: Competitive + Benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits and excellent career development).

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Physiotherapist to join our team at The Wellington Hospital, currently rated “Good” by the CQC.

The Wellington Hospital has over four decades of expertise; providing the highest level of care for patients who are looking for the best treatment in key areas of healthcare, including: neurosurgery, spinal surgery, cardiac care, orthopaedics, acute neurological rehabilitation, gynaecology and cancer care. 

In our 50-bed Acute Neurological Rehabilitation Unit we care for patients with a wide range of complex neurological conditions. And we're supported by the UK’s largest private intensive care unit. We also offer the latest cancer and robotic surgery treatments, including electro-chemotherapy, HIPEC and the da Vinci Robot. Having the largest neurosciences unit in London means we're able to carry out advanced spinal surgery, intracranial and peripheral nerve surgery as well as pioneering neurosurgery. 

This role will require rotations throughout the acute services whilst carrying out accurate physiotherapy assessment and treatment of patients with diverse clinical presentations, and complex physical and psychological needs. You will need to implement clear, clinically reasoned and appropriate individualised treatment plans which are regularly reviewed and updated ensuring effective and consistent communication with all parties involved. Rotations include cardiothoracics, ITU, spinal/orthopaedics, general medical, general surgical and oncology.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team with patients, their families, consultants and agencies to proactively plan and manage a patient discharge needs as early as possible. This includes early identification of complex care needs and liaising with relevant teams.

What you will bring:

  • Professional qualification of Physiotherapy

  • HCPC Registration 

  • Relevant experience within an acute inpatient setting and rehabilitation
