Job Description

CACI is seeking Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Technicians to support submarine maintenance related Engineering and Planning efforts at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNS) in Kittery, Maine.
 

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Develop, create and review Job Summaries and Task Group Instructions (TGIs).
  • Assist with other Deficiency Form problems and preparing Sales Costs estimates.
  • Support of 688 Class and 774 Class Submarine engineering and Deep Submergence projects.


You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and at least 15 years of related Engineering Technician experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a Confidential clearance.
  • Strong SHAPEC or DSSP experience.
  • 15 years' experience with submarine and/or deep submergence systems.
  • Knowledge of US Navy Shipyard applications including AIM.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and experience with MS Office suite of products
  • Technical training equivalent to an associate's degree is also preferred.

Work consists of tasks that are typically not routine. Works independently under limited supervision. May achieve operational targets through leading other team members within the job area through delegation and review.

◦ Responsible for making minor changes in systems and processes to solve problems or improve efficiency and effectiveness of job area. Typically has user experience knowledge and makes broader change recommendations based on user feedback. Expected to independently propose solutions to problems for manager review.
◦ Problems and issues faced are general, and may require understanding of broader set of issues, but typically are not complex, and may require some analysis to understand and resolve.

Communication & Influence:
◦ Communicates with contacts typically within and outside the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information on matters of moderate importance to the job area. Explains practices, procedures and policies in order to reach agreement or support internal clients.

Leadership & Talent Management:
◦ May act as a team lead and assistant to the supervisor / manager. May delegate tasks to other team members and be responsible for the review of work product. Responsible for providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within the job area. Does not have formal management responsibilities (e.g., performance management, disciplining, etc.), but may provide input to management in this area.

Knowledge & Experience:
◦ Requires broad knowledge of operational systems and practices typically gained through extensive experience and/or education.
◦ Typically has 7 years of experience. May require vocational or technical education in addition to related work experience.
