ROLE SUMMARY

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to own the CorePower Services LLC (“CP Services”) gift card program and lead unclaimed property compliance across both CP Services and CorePower Yoga, LLC (“CPY”). This role serves as the primary point of contact for gift card operations, including third-party distributor management, accounting, and compliance, while also overseeing multi-state escheatment filings and supporting tax and close processes. This position is ideal for a self-motivated individual who can manage multiple workstreams, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive processes forward with minimal oversight.

This position requires strong prioritization skills, the ability to work independently, and ownership of processes from end to end. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, maintains a high level of accuracy, and consistently meets deadlines with minimal oversight.

This position is a dual-role supporting both CP Services and CPY. The individual in this role will perform services for each entity as needed, with responsibilities clearly defined and allocated between the two organizations. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

CP Services Responsibilities

Gift Card Program Management:

· Own and manage the CP Services gift card program end-to-end

· Maintain accurate books and records related to gift card activity

· Manage relationships with third-party gift card distributors, including reporting, funding, and reconciliations

· Negotiate and oversee third-party distribution channels for gift card sales

· Oversee gift card liability accounting, including breakage analysis and related journal entries

· Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable state laws related to gift cards

· Coordinate with vendors providing card stock, marketing, and related services to ensure consistency in quality and pricing

· Analyze gift card sales and redemption trends and provide insights to support business decisions

· Serve as point of contact for customer-related issues, including lost or stolen gift cards

 

Unclaimed Property (Escheatment):

· Manage the full lifecycle of unclaimed property compliance related to gift cards, including identification, due diligence, and multi-state filings

· Ensure adherence to state-specific regulations and reporting deadlines

· Research and resolve outstanding items related to gift card liabilities

 

Tax & Regulatory Support:

· Maintain applicable tax rates for gift card-related products and services in relevant systems

· Support preparation of indirect tax filings related to gift card activity

· Compile documentation to support filings, audits, and regulatory inquiries

· Monitor and respond to tax notices, coordinating with external advisors as needed

 

General Accounting & Compliance:

· Support month-end close activities, including reconciliations and journal entries related to gift card activity

· Maintain internal controls and documentation specific to CP Services activities

· Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk

 

CPY Responsibilities

In addition to CP Services responsibilities, this role will perform similar accounting, compliance, and tax support functions for CorePower Yoga, LLC, focused on non–gift card related activities. Responsibilities include supporting unclaimed property compliance (identification, due diligence, and multi-state filings), maintaining applicable tax rates, assisting with tax filings, and compiling documentation for audits and regulatory inquiries. The role will also support month-end close activities, including reconciliations and journal entries, maintain internal controls and documentation, and contribute to process improvements and cross-functional initiatives.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • 4-6+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance field
  • 1-2 years of experience in a multi-unit business (restaurant, retail, etc.) preferred
  • Public accounting experience and/or CPA a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting requirements
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to effectively self-review work
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to independently manage processes and drive work to completion
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of professionalism with the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP) and experience with accounting systems; NetSuite preferred
  • Experience with unclaimed property, gift cards, or indirect tax strongly preferred
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable with the ability to perform under pressure

DUAL-ENTITY ROLE STRUCTURE

This position is a dual-role supporting both CP Services and CPY. The individual in this role will perform services for each entity as needed, with responsibilities clearly defined and allocated between the two organizations.

While employed in a dual capacity, the role will be physically based at the CPY corporate office for all work performed, including responsibilities executed on behalf of CP Services.

A structured approach will be maintained to ensure appropriate separation between entities. This includes clear delineation of duties and documentation to support compliance, reporting, and operational integrity across both organizations.
