Role description:
Manage the governance, analysis and optimization of software licensing and technology asset data to ensure compliance, improve utilisation and support strategic decision-making. The role drives reporting standards, manages analytical insights and guides the Tech License Desk team to identify risk mitigation and cost optimization opportunities across the technology estate.
Role accountabilities:
- Manage the analysis of large and complex technology asset datasets to generate insights that support governance, compliance monitoring and optimisation of software licenses.
- Oversee the development of reporting frameworks and dashboards that enable stakeholders to monitor license utilisation, compliance exposure and financial impact.
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders across Technology, Procurement, Finance and Risk.
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to identify trends, anomalies and improvement opportunities in asset management data.
- Manage and mentor the Tech License Desk team, providing direction on reporting priorities, analytical approaches and governance standards.
- Coordinate delivery of reporting and insights to multiple stakeholders across the organization.
- Foster a culture of data integrity, continuous improvement and proactive identification of risk and optimization opportunities.
- Identify and address data gaps impacting technology asset governance, reporting quality and decision-making.
- Oversee the development of recommendations to improve data quality, asset visibility and license management processes.
- Initiate and apply audit and risk assessment methodologies to monitor compliance with software licensing obligations.
- Provide recommendations on license optimisation opportunities through analysis of usage, entitlements and vendor agreements.
- Validate reporting outputs and present insights and recommendations to senior management and relevant governance forums.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Over 5+ years of experience in technology or business with a technology focus in procurement, software asset management or contract management
- Develop KPI's related to software and asset tracking
- Understanding best data practices and augmentation
- Understand key elements of SAM frameworks (ISO/IEC 19770, ITIL)
- Attention to detail
