Description:
The Retail Pharmacy Technician II plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the retail pharmacy at University Hospital. This position assists pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency in all pharmacy processes.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately prepare, label, and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
Provide exceptional customer service to patients, caregivers, and staff
Process prescription orders, including data entry and insurance adjudication
Manage inventory, restock medications, and monitor for expired products
Operate cash register and handle transactions in accordance with policies
Maintain compliance with state, federal, and IU Health regulations
Support workflow efficiency in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Active Indiana Pharmacy Technician license
National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required
Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience
Preferred
Retail pharmacy experience
Familiarity with pharmacy systems and insurance processing
