The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Engineer to support the successful delivery of complex, multidisciplinary projects across design, procurement, construction and commissioning. Reporting into the Project Controls Manager, you’ll play a key role in developing and maintaining robust schedules, analysing progress and productivity, and providing clear insights to support decision-making across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain and update resource-loaded baseline schedules using Primavera P6
Perform earned value analysis, schedule updates and progress reporting
Analyse critical path, milestones, float and productivity trends
Prepare look-ahead schedules and support construction planning
Interface with site teams to capture weekly progress and constraints
Support cost and labour forecasting in collaboration with commercial teams
Identify delays, risks and potential schedule impacts and communicate proactively
Contribute to client and internal reporting, claims support and extension of time analysis
Manage shutdown and outage programs
Requirements to be successful
Tertiary qualification in Engineering
5-10 years’ experience in project controls, primarily within construction environments
Strong experience in planning, scheduling, progress measurement and earned value reporting
Advanced capability in Primavera P6 (SAP and project management systems experience highly regarded)
Exposure to FPM and FSM (Desirable, not essential)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities
A collaborative, solutions-focused mindset and commitment to safety
Substation or terminal experience highly regarded
Previous Power BI experience highly regarded
