Job Description
Under general supervision, assists the dentist and/or dental hygienist in chairside dentistry in the clinic.
- Assist dentist and dental hygienist in management of a medical and dental emergencies
- Takes x-rays as prescribed by dentist
- Instructs a client in oral hygiene
- Instructs a client in oral hygiene and plaque control programs
- Prepares clients, sterilizes instruments, sets up instrumental trays, prepares materials, assists dentist during dental treatment and cleans room
- Assists with all aspects of sealants, dental health education programs, and health fairs
- Assists with administrative duties of Oral Health Program including intake process, scheduling appointments, and billing
- Records treatment information in client records.
- Follows clinical guidelines of record documentation and HIPPA regulations
High School diploma/GED and two (2) years of experience in a dental setting; or a Vocational/Technical degree in dental assisting from an accredited college and one (1) year of experience as a dental assistant; or one (1) year experience at the lower level Dental Billingual English/Spanish preferred.
