Job Description

The Officer of Security and Safety is responsible for the overall protection, security, and safety of our arenas, its staff (Linemates), guests, and assets. This role serves as a visible presence on the facility floor, enforcing security protocols, supporting daily operations, and responding to incidents with professionalism and sound judgment. The ideal candidate combines a security-first mindset with a guest-service orientation consistent with the Company's culture.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Security & Patrol

• Assume overall responsibility for the safety and security of the facility and designated areas.

• Patrol designated areas in accordance with outlined security procedures.

• Identify potential safety and/or security risks; respond, report, and escalate accordingly.

• Monitor alarms and security surveillance systems, reporting anomalies immediately.

• Control and direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow throughout the facility and surrounding areas.

• Ensure all employees and visitors possess proper credentials when accessing secure zones within the building, including ID badges and access passes.


Incident Response & Documentation

• Demonstrate sound judgment and quickly identify the best course of action when managing dangerous, sensitive, or difficult situations.

• Escalate emergency situations to law enforcement as needed and execute appropriate internal notifications in a timely manner.

• Complete thorough incident reports and all required documentation for safety and security-related events.

• Maintain professional and effective working relationships with local law enforcement and fire department personnel.


Guest Services & Facility Operations

• Proactively assist visitors and Linemates while exhibiting the highest standard of customer service skills consistent with the Vegas Golden Knights brand.

• Assist facility operations staff in securing designated areas during maintenance emergencies, team practices, and special events.

• Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related collaborative tasks as needed.


Mail, Package & Records Management

• Actively assist with and assume responsibility for the receipt and delivery of all mail and packages arriving at the arena.

• Maintain all associated documentation and recordkeeping for package delivery and visitation logs.

• Assist Linemates with the coordination of shipping all outbound mail and packages leaving the arena.


Training & Compliance

• Assist with the creation and implementation of various safety and security training plans.

• Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and work rules at all times.

• Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.


QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field.

• Valid Nevada Guard Card (or ability to obtain prior to start date).

• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce accurate incident reports.

• Proficiency with access control systems, CCTV monitoring equipment, and standard office software.

• Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment under pressure.

• Must be available to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on facility scheduling needs.

• You may be required to work in different venues so may require travel to other venues based off of facility scheduling needs. 


Preferred

• Prior experience in a sports venue, arena, or large public assembly facility.

• Familiarity with Nevada Revised Statutes related to trespass, use of force, and detention.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires the ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods (up to 8+ hours per shift). Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., climb stairs, and respond quickly to emergency situations throughout the facility. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments within and around the arenas. Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and large crowds should be expected. Some shifts may involve game days or other special events requiring extended hours.
