
BA Manager III, ROC Reactive Scheduling
Job Description
As a Business Analyst Manager on the team, you will be leading a team of Business Analysts and will enable effective decision making by retrieving and aggregating data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format. You will partner with Operations, Product and Tech teams to solve business problems with focus on understanding root causes and driving forward-looking opportunities. Your ownership of the scoping and design of new metrics and enhancement of existing ones will help support the future state of business processes and ensure sustainability. You will communicate complex analysis and insights to stakeholders and business leaders, both verbally and in writing. These analytics and metrics will help ensure we are focused on what’s important, enable clarity and focus, and delight our customers. This position will support our expansion to other geographies.
Key job responsibilities
• Work closely with business managers and stakeholders to understand business issues and recommend solutions to ensure business questions are properly answered
• Understand trends related to Amazon business and recommend strategies to stakeholders to help drive business growth. Reporting of key insight trends, using statistical rigor to simplify and inform the larger team of noteworthy story lines. Respond with urgency to high priority requests from senior business leaders.
• Identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations that will help shape the direction of the business.
• Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions. Ensure data accuracy by validating data for new and existing tools. Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon’s data resources and know how, when, and which to use and which not to use.
• Engage stakeholders in constructive dialogues to convert business problems into logic problems that can be solved with data, statistics, and scripting
• Manage and execute entire projects or components of large projects from start to finish including project management, data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations
• Mentor team members by coaching them on the analytics lifecycle, including identifying the optimal analytical method, building and automating the solution, and generating insights from the results
Surface Transportation (ST) is seeking a highly skilled and a motivated team player to be part of the dynamic ROC team which supports NA and EU Surface Transportation Operations. The Surface Transportation
- 5+ years of business analyst, data analyst or an equivalent role experience
- 3+ years of direct management experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in management directly
- Experience in a business analyst, data analyst or equivalent role
- Experience creating, iterating, and improving end-to-end global supply chains
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
- Master's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field
- Knowledge of Six Sigma tools and Lean techniques
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MS Power Query, Python)
