Quest Defense Systems & Solutions is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support production operations by troubleshooting hardware issues, resolving manufacturing challenges, and ensuring hardware builds stay on schedule. This role serves as the technical lead for production issues, partnering with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and drive issues through final resolution.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who can quickly assess technical problems, prioritize multiple issues, communicate effectively across teams, and take ownership from initial investigation through successful resolution.
This role is for 3rd shift (11p - 8a)

What You'll Do
- Investigate and resolve electrical hardware issues impacting production and supplier performance.
- Troubleshoot complex circuit card assemblies (CCAs), electronic hardware, and electro-mechanical systems.
- Diagnose hardware failures using electronic lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators, and power supplies.
- Interpret electrical schematics, PCB layouts, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering drawings to identify root causes.
- Lead production issue resolution by coordinating cross-functional teams and driving corrective actions through completion.
- Prepare engineering change documentation and present technical changes for review and approval.
- Maintain and update engineering documentation, drawings, and technical records.
- Analyze defect trends and production yield data to identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve technical issues, develop Statements of Work (SOWs), and support supplier performance.
- Provide day-to-day electrical engineering support for manufacturing and production environments.
- Communicate project status, technical risks, and resolution plans to engineering and production leadership.
- Manage multiple technical issues simultaneously while balancing production priorities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent engineering discipline.
- 2-10 years of electrical engineering experience supporting production, manufacturing, or hardware development.
- Experience troubleshooting and testing one or more of the following: Digital electronics, Analog electronics, RF systems, Mixed-signal electronic systems, Complex circuit card assemblies (CCAs), Electro-mechanical systems
- Experience using electronic test equipment such as: Oscilloscopes, Logic analyzers, Function generators, Power supplies
- Ability to read and interpret: Electrical schematics, PCB layouts, Bills of Materials (BOMs), Engineering drawings
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting production engineering or manufacturing engineering operations.
- Experience working with suppliers to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.
- Experience preparing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), or other change documentation.
- Experience with electronic or electro-optical subsystem design.
- Familiarity with electrical design, simulation, and engineering analysis tools.
- Experience integrating, testing, and validating electrical subsystems.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, defect reduction, and manufacturing process improvements.
- Experience leading small technical projects or coordinating cross-functional engineering teams.
- Experience within aerospace, defense, medical device, automotive, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
