Manager Test & Analysis - Piney Flats, TN
As an integral part of the engineering leadership team, individual will manage a team of test and analysis engineers that support all aspects of Piney Flats operations and airworthiness certification, which involves new and customized design, various analyses, testing, installation, operation, product support and maintenance of aircraft customizing through Major Alterations and new product development through STC certification projects, manufacturing/MRB support at Aeronautical Accessories while also providing innovative aftermarket engineering solutions and airworthiness certification support across the business. This role is dynamic and requires high technical competency across the air vehicle to substantiate the integrity of kit accessories and systems installations on Bell aircraft.
What you’ll be doing as Manager Test & Analysis:
Support trade studies, business cases, design reviews, gate reviews to down-select PF projects
Support Piney Flats design engineering activities on new products, updates, and product support
Provide manufacturing, MRB support for Aeronautical Accessories products/Kits and aircraft level installation/completion support at Aircraft Services
Manage analyses performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and fielded fleet
Manage test support activity for both component level testing and aircraft level testing performed at Piney Flats or other locations in support of Piney Flats engineering and certification projects
Support STC/MRA/TC customizing certification project activities and deliverables
Skills You Bring to This Role
Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar Engineering degree
Background in aircraft design, structural/load/operational analysis, and testing
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Technical Project Management experience preferred
Experience with FAA/ODA certification preferred
Prior engineering leadership or team-management experience preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to work at a computer workstation for extended periods, including reviewing engineering data, models, and analysis reports
Ability to walk, stand, or move through manufacturing, test, and hangar environments as needed to support testing, inspections, or engineering activities
Ability to climb in and around aircraft structures, test setups, or equipment when required for inspection or validation tasks
Ability to lift, carry, or handle engineering documents, test equipment, or small components up to approximately 25lbs
Ability to visually inspect components, installations, and test configurations, including interpreting technical drawings and documentation
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and protective footwear while in designated shop, hangar, or test areas
Ability to work in environments with occasional exposure to noise, vibration, or chemicals consistent with aircraft maintenance, testing, and manufacturing operations
80 hours of Personal Time Off (PTO)
