
Event Specialist (OPS) Powel Crosley Estate
Job Description
Work Hours: Monday - Friday and/or weekends as needed, hours may not exceed 25 per week
Expected Starting Hourly Range: $15.45 - $19.31

Working Conditions
The work environment may include exposure to high noise levels while performing certain essential job functions. The position requires the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance, with or without reasonable accommodation. Work may involve strenuous physical activity under varying climatic conditions and in both indoor and outdoor environments. The role involves sitting for extended periods while working on a computer.

Marketing and Sales Support
Provides a variety of support to the marketing and group sales staff to advance tourism and events in Manatee County. Performs data entry (Excel, etc.), assists with preparing reports and assists with conducting inventory of marketing materials. Collects reports and screen shots to prepare invoices for payment. Prepares Welcome Bags, delivers visitor guides to Visitor Information Centers, prepares UPS shipments, some social media and event calendar updates and a variety of other support to assist staff in marketing Manatee County events and tourism.
Assist sales and marketing team with ongoing projects and research.
Answer incoming calls from customers as needed, assisting them or routing calls appropriately.
Takes walk-in/walk-up inquiries, as well as telephone and email inquiries.
Responsible for complying with time frames for set-ups, operations and tear downs.
Quotes prices and services using rate tables; figures discounts if applicable and makes other associated mathematical computations.
Understands and follows oral and written communications. Communicates clearly and effectively, deals with customers/clients in a tactful and courteous manner.
Performs other related duties as assigned, including participation in emergency or disaster response activities, as required and consistent with the employee’s qualifications, essential job functions, and appliable federal and Florida law.
High school graduate/equivalent.Minimum of six months experience in special events setting related to set-up and tear down of events; or experience in a customer service setting; or experience performing administrative functions related to supporting events; or experience in a similar hospitality setting or environment.
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered in meeting the minimum qualifications for this position.
Prior experience in customer service is desired.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
