Job Description
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY
The Human Resources Assistant (HRA) provides administrative and customer service support to the recruitment and benefits areas of Human Resources (HR), including assistance with the occupational injury plan, vaccination tracking, FMLA, and bill reconciliation. In addition, this position assists the recruitment team with various reporting or filing needs. The HRA provides general backup administrative support to HR functions and responds to questions and inquiries from employees in a professional manner. The HRA handles a wide range of matters that require strict confidentiality, and professional appearance and attendance are essential.
The HRA exemplifies and champions Carter BloodCare (CBC) Core Values, Code of Conduct, and HR Service Standards and adheres to CBC policies and applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). To support ongoing development and organizational goals, the HRA is required to attend meetings and training sessions, as assigned.
This position may require working varied shifts, extended hours, weekends, and/or overtime to support operational needs. Regular full-time attendance is required during normal working hours.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 1 year of assistant or generalist experience in an HR department
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Ability to multitask with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to build a rapport with individuals from a wide variety of cultures, experiences and backgrounds
- Ability to maintain a continuous focus on improvement opportunities
- Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively, meeting established deadlines
- Advanced user of MS Office Suite
- Exhibits initiative, discretion and professionalism (e.g., dress, skill)
PHYSICAL/MENTAL STRESS FACTORS
- Primarily a sedentary job that requires the ability to walk, stand, bend, and move up to 20 pounds
- Ability to work under stressful deadlines at times
