About This Opportunity
We are seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to join the Accounting Discipline within the UQ Business School, a discipline recognised for excellence in internationally impactful research.
At Lecturer level (Level B), you will build your academic profile across teaching, research, supervision, and service. You may coordinate courses or lead staff activities, contribute to Honours and Higher Degree by Research supervision, and work towards achieving national recognition in your field.
At Senior Lecturer level (Level C), you will bring an established record of achievement in teaching, research, supervision, and service. You will be expected to lead academic activities, supervise Higher Degree by Research students to completion as principal supervisor, and demonstrate national standing with a developing international research profile.
Key responsibilities will include:
Teaching: Develop and deliver courses, engage in curriculum design, coordinate courses, assess students, provide academic counselling, and adhere to university teaching rules.
Research: Establish a research program, collaborate on research projects, seek and manage research funding, publish in reputable journals, utilize best practice research methodologies, and participate in project discussions.
Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervise students, recruit and manage employees, provide performance feedback and training, resolve conflicts, and ensure correct remuneration and benefits.
Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.

About You
At Academic Level B, you will bring:
A PhD or equivalent in Accounting or a closely related discipline, completed or near completion by the commencement date.
A growing profile in teaching and research in accounting, with evidence of high-quality teaching at undergraduate, honours or postgraduate level.
Demonstrated research potential, evidenced by a developing pipeline of working papers targeting high-quality journals and conferences and/or published peer-reviewed research.
A willingness and emerging capability to seek, obtain and manage external research funding.
Experience contributing to supervision of student research and to meaningful internal service roles, alongside engagement with relevant external academic or professional communities.
In addition, for appointment at Academic Level C, you will demonstrate:
An established teaching and research profile with national recognition and a developing international presence, supported by a strong publication record in reputable refereed journals and conference presentations.
A proven track record of securing and managing external research funding and leading course coordination, curriculum development, and continuous teaching innovation.
Successful supervision of Higher Degree by Research students to completion as principal supervisor.
Evidence of exceptional teaching quality, academic leadership, and substantial contributions to both internal service and external professional or disciplinary activities.
