Job Title: Adjunct Teaching - English - Writing 150, 311, 312, 313, 315, and 316 (Evening School)

Posting End Date: May 23, 2026

Position Start Date: September 1, 2026

 

Required Degree: MA in English, MFA in Creative Writing, or in a comparable field. The required degree must be completed by the start date. 

 

Experience: College-level composition course instruction.

 

Duties/Expectations: 

Teach the following General Education writing courses:

  • WRTG 150: First-Year Writing - Writing and Rhetoric

  • WRTG 311: Writing about the Arts and Humanities

  • WRTG 312: Persuasive Writing

  • WRTG 313: Advanced Writing for Educators

  • WRTG 315: Writing in the Social Sciences

  • WRTG 316: Technical Communication

  • Course descriptions are available in the BYU Course Catalog.

  • Each writing course has required learning outcomes and recommended assignments as set by the University Writing program

  • Participate in ad hoc workshops and events as coordinated by the English Department's adjunct faculty liaison.
