Pay Range: $16.92 - $25.38 per hour | Based on Relevant Experience
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (some variability based on departmental needs)

As an Optician at Quincy Medical Group, you will guide patients in selecting frames and lenses, take precise measurements, and ensure a comfortable, high-quality fit. Primary Responsibilities
Greet patients, review prescriptions, and explain lens options, including single vision, progressive, and specialty lenses. Take accurate measurements such as pupillary distance, segment height, and vertex distance, and perform lens verification with a lensometer. Assist patients with frame styling, fitting, adjustments, and minor repairs to ensure comfort and satisfaction. Place and track eyewear orders, coordinating with labs and vendors for timely and high-quality delivery. Verify insurance eligibility and process claims, collect payments, and provide accurate estimates. Educate patients on lens features, coatings, warranties, and proper eyewear care. Troubleshoot visual concerns and coordinate follow-up with providers when necessary. Maintain inventory, merchandising, and a clean, organized dispensary. Document services accurately in the EMR/optical system and manage calls and messages efficiently.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
1–2 years of optician/optical experience preferred; strong customer service background welcomed
Certified by the National Board in Opticianry preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Skilled in frame adjustments, minor repairs, order entry, and lens verification
Comfortable using EMR/optical software, insurance verification systems, and point-of-sale processes
Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a patient-first mindset
