Milling Mach Opr A - 2nd shift MTC

Job Description:

· Sets up and operates all types of milling machines on diversified production, experimental or tool work wherein methods must be devised to machine parts.

· Devises methods to clamp, block and hold work. 

· Selects speeds, feeds and tools. 

· Selects reference points. 

· Uses dividing heads. 

· Uses boring head with special tools and cutters. 

· Work involves all types of milling operations, including facing and milling, dovetailing, boring, reaming, gear work, etc. 

· Uses a wide variety of attachments including slotting equipment, grinding wheels and grinding attachments.

· Frequently works without fixtures. 

· Works to close tolerances.

Tools & Equipment Used:

· Various conventional, NC and CNC milling machines and the attachments thereto, machinists’ hand tools and precision measuring equipment.

Experience & Other Requirements:

· Three (3) years performing the work above.
