Position Overview:
The Admissions Coordinator (AC) is accountable for providing an excellent customer experience by guiding clients through the pre-admission process post clinical assessment. The AC is a critical team member in the front-end admissions (enrollment) department. The position receives potential client referrals with level of care recommendations from the clinical intake team and works to convert those referrals to higher level of care admissions. ACs are responsible for ensuring beds and programming spots are filled to maximum possible occupancy. This position requires a heavy sales orientation and the ability to coordinate critical pre-admission appointments, and carry out complex administrative processes, while providing excellent communication and direction to clients and their families, internal staff, and external providers.

- Full time, 40 hours per week
- M-F 10a-7p CST
Compensation Disclosure:
- Admissions Coordinator: Starting hourly range between $24.04-30.00
Final Compensation offered will be within pay range based on qualifications/experience met for the position
How Admission Coordinators Empower Recovery
The Admissions Coordinator (AC) is accountable for providing an excellent customer experience by guiding clients through the pre-admission process post clinical assessment. This position requires a heavy sales orientation and the ability to coordinate critical pre-admission appointments, and carry out complex administrative processes, while providing excellent communication and direction to clients and their families, internal staff, and external providers.
You will serve clients daily in a multitude of ways:
- Guide clients through the pre-admission process while communicating with internal and external care teams, loved ones and referring facilities.
- Drive step-in (new admission) volume performance, while also supporting internal client transitions (step-ups and step-downs).
- Overcome client objections and barriers to help clients admit into the services they need as quickly as possible.
- Collaborate with clients and their support systems to build motivation and insight to increase the likelihood of conversion to treatment.
- Manage multiple demands and prioritize pre-admission needs for an active caseload of potential clients, including:
- Contacting new referrals within 1 business day.
- Frequently following-up with clients on the interest list.
- Managing the receipt and requesting of medical records necessary for pre-admit medical clearance.
- Administrative tasks within the EHR for opening and closing episodes of care, verifying/compiling census, etc.
- Interpret insurance benefits to provide a comprehensive financial quote to the client.
- Partner with insurance teams for seamless application of client benefits
- Schedule pre-admission appointments, including medical intake, nursing assessment, program orientation, clinical reassessments, and intake evaluations.
- Document all required activities in various systems (EHR, Census App) in a timely manner.
- Effectively communicate details regarding the admission process, program specifics, and able to answer any admission related questions.
- Communicate admit confirmation details to all necessary internal teams.
- Always maintain the confidentiality of former and current clients’ protected health information, as directed by state and federal law, and Accanto Health’s policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or related mental health field or equivalent experience required
- 2+ years of experience in a healthcare setting required.
- 2+ years of experience in a behavioral healthcare call center and/or enrollment center desired.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite with ability to learn new applications.
