Job Summary:
The Head Cashier is a highly visible team member responsible for greeting customers, assisting with transactions at the point of sale, and thanking them upon completion. The role also includes answering phones and directing calls. The Head Cashier must consistently maintain a friendly, professional demeanor and interact well with customers, sales staff, management, and fellow employees. Strong memorization and interpersonal skills are essential.
Qualifications:
Education: Basic reading and writing skills required.
Training and Experience: No formal experience required; prior cashiering, typing, or keypunch experience preferred.
Job Knowledge: Must accurately count back change; knowledge of cashier procedures and building materials is a plus.
Physical Demands: Light physical activity including sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting. Work is performed in a climate-controlled environment.
