Job Summary
The Staff Accountant will work directly with the local office, and other office locations, as established by the Supervisor or Manager. He/She will be responsible for the day-to-day general accounting of the office, and other offices as established by the Supervisor or Manager. Provide daily assistance with assigned accounting duties and responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently within established procedures associated with the role
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with the accounting team and location managers
- Demonstrates strong technical aptitude, with the ability to efficiently learn and utilize accounting systems, financial software, and other business applications
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Typically requires 1–3 years of related experience
- Four-year degree preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
- Maintains and records a complete and systematic set of business transactions
- Balances ledgers, reconciles accounts, and prepares reports reflecting receipts, expenditures, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
- Adheres to established accounting procedures and organizational policies
- Reports directly to a supervisor or manager
- Performs direct bill commission statement reconciliations
- Deposits checks to the bank, as needed
- Completes accounts receivable and accounts payable tasks as assigned
- Provides backup support for other accounting positions as necessary
