AIRLIFT NORTHWEST - COMMUNICATIONS CENTER has an outstanding opportunity for a MEDICAL AIRLIFT COMMUNICATIONS SUPERVISOR to join the Communications Center Team.

WORK SCHEDULE

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

Airlift Northwest is the region’s premier critical care transport service providing rotor-wing, fixed-wing, and ground critical care transport operations across a complex multi-state system.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Supervise staff of medical airlift communications specialists who coordinate air/ground transport for emergency medical care, and ensure triage of local and interstate medical flights, ground transport and medical team confirmation

  • Train new employees, assign and schedule work, act upon leave requests, conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary action

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Manager with budgets (staffing, equipment and training needs), scheduling (shift staffing and overtime) and payroll

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures related to the functions of the Communications Center and ensure consistency with ALNW protocols and goals

  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of patient registrations, hospital admissions, and discharges and telephone interactions

  • Investigate complaints and initiate corrective action

  • Monitor staff on comprehension of, and training needs regarding regulatory compliance for HIPAA, billing/reimbursement requirements for Medicare/Medicaid, other third-party payers, and regulatory agencies

  • Support the Airlift Northwest quality improvement (QI) and process improvement activities by participating in committees as assigned, and developing department-specific programs as well as preparing QA/QI reports

  • Routinely fill in, as required, during periods of staffing shortages (e.g., staff sick leave and vacation leave)

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in business, public relations, or related field AND two years of experience in management or supervision in a health care setting.

Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

$33.84 hourly
