Overview At Gallagher, we are service-minded individuals coming together to shape a future defined by excellence. We are looking for a Senior Data Support Engineer to join our team in Sri Lanka. This role is a unique opportunity to ensure the stability, reliability, and performance of enterprise data platforms, including insurance and financial data warehouses. As a technical leader within Global Data Operations, you’ll handle complex incidents, drive platform enhancements, and mentor the engineering team to achieve operational excellence. How you'll make an impact In this role, you’ll lead troubleshooting efforts, conduct root cause analyses, and optimise enterprise data platforms to ensure they meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance data integration and governance processes, ensuring compliance with regulations like SOX and GDPR. You’ll also: Act as the escalation point for advanced data and integration issues. Optimise query performance, pipelines, and system scalability. Write clean, scalable code and conduct code reviews. Enhance CI/CD pipelines and automate support tasks. Provide technical leadership, coaching, and training to the engineering team. About you Here’s what you’ll bring to the role: 6–8+ years in data-centric support operations, with 3+ years in data engineering roles. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Extensive experience in data-centric support operations, with a strong background in data engineering. Expertise in SQL, data modelling, ETL/ELT processes, and performance tuning. Familiarity with technologies such as Azure Data Stack (Synapse, SQL, DevOps), Snowflake, DBT, Fivetran, Power BI, and ServiceNow. Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders and solve complex problems.
