Summary of the Job:

 

The Head of Credit Risk, Partnership Credit Cards is a critical credit risk leadership role responsible for leading a best-in-class team that drives sustainable growth within FNBO’s risk appetite, supported by the power of analytics, effective governance, customer focus, and strong partnerships across the enterprise. This individual manages acquisitions and account management credit risk for the FNBO consumer card portfolio while maintaining and continuously improving a strong, forward-compatible credit risk management environment.
The pace, breadth, and complexity of challenges that the credit risk management organization must address continue to expand rapidly. The Head of Credit Risk, Partnership Credit Cards will be responsible for appropriately assessing the dynamic evolution of consumer behavior (e.g., payment and revolve patterns), protecting customers and FNBO by identifying and mitigating the impact of macroeconomic declines and adhering to regulatory and policy requirements.

About This Role:

 

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Partnering with cross-functional partners, and stakeholders to deliver sustained growth through prudent risk practices.
  • Leading a best-in-class credit risk team accountable for all related credit risk
  • New Account strategy development and execution across all customer channels, including digital, store and mail; this includes monitoring and refining rules for account opening.
  • Existing Customer Account Management strategy development and execution, key to which are: Exposure Management, Authorization Strategy, Balance Consolidation, Sales Growth Initiatives.
  • Credit Operations management and continuous improvement for unsecured consumer cards, secured cards, and small business cards.
  • Delivery of strategic initiatives and management of new and emerging risks
  • Ensuring a consistent and strong control environment
  • Partner with modeling team on new tools, machine learning techniques and alternative data
  • Represent credit risk management at executive and partner committee meetings (e.g., Capital Allocation Committee, Credit Policy Committee)

The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

 

  • 15+ years of relevant credit risk management or financial services experience required
  • 5+ years of people management experience, including experience as a manager of managers
  • Knowledge of card P&L dynamics and the interaction of consumer behaviors, product configuration and the macroeconomic environment
  • Demonstrated experience in leading change, with a track record of identifying and implementing opportunities to improve business operations and performance
  • Demonstrated success in managing partner relationships
  • Working knowledge of the applicable laws and regulations that govern lending in a financial institution
  • Education Level: Bachelor's Degree, Masters Degree preferred in finance, engineering, mathematics, or statistics

Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.
