EHS Manager
Job Description
This role is responsible for providing client services and support to various departments at Universal Studios Hollywood and CityWalk in pursuit of environmental, health & safety compliance and continued development of a business-wide safety culture.
• Conducts hazard and risk assessments, as needed of new operations or facility changes and produce written reports of those assessments within department protocols.
• Responds to EHS Department service calls or requests received via the Safety Hotline system or other means in which concerns/suggestions are raised to the department.
• Uses every opportunity to drive EHS awareness by demonstrating safe behavior, continuous self-development and education in areas of environmental, health & safety compliance, industry trends and regulatory developments. Utilizes every interaction with others to educate and promote a culture of environmental, health & safety excellence.
• Participates in the review of written programs and supporting documentation to meet safety management system requirements.
• Conducts trends analysis and reporting of results against key EHS metrics (I & I rate, training compliance %, audit closure rate, etc.) to clients in an effort to drive reduction in injury & illness rates.
• Assists departments with complex accident and near miss investigations.
• Works with clients to develop, implement and improve safety action plans geared toward injury reduction.
• Provides direct client services support to various USH/CW departments on matters of environmental, health & safety.
• Ensures each department is actively engaged in the EHS Program with established safety action plans and employee involvement opportunities.
• Partners with Safety Committees and other safety-related employee involvement opportunities at USH to maintain high levels of EHS awareness and foster open communication between EHS and employees population.
• Works with Safety Reps to develop their skills and improve safety awareness.
• Must be a proficient public speaker in order to facilitate training or lead meetings as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in a safety, occupational health or industrial hygiene field preferred.
• 5-7 Years: experience in the Safety and Occupational Health field
• Professional designation such as CSP, CIH, OHST, CEM or other nationally recognized professional designation preferred but not required. Live Theater/Production/Theme Park safety experience is a plus.
