Coordinating Producer, MS NOW The Moment with Katy Tur
Job Description
MS NOW is looking for an experienced Coordinating Producer for The Moment with Katy Tur, airing weekdays from 2PM - 4PM.
This position is represented by the Writers Guild of America East.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee rundown management, live reporter requests and more as Line Producer
- Assist the Anchor, Executive Producer and Senior Producers in the supervision of the editorial vision of each day, including suggesting stories and guests for the shows
- Write show scripts including news "readers," breaking news updates, teases, and more
- Serve as main back-up Senior Producer
- Supervise and copy edit segment producers’ scripts
- Facilitate rapid on-air reporting in breaking news
- Originate story ideas
- Determine video and sound for assigned segments
- Assists in coordination of cross-platform large news events and special coverage
- Must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Must have at least 5 years of experience in live television, preferably as a Line and/or Segment Producer
- Thorough knowledge of current events, US politics, geopolitics, foreign policy and history
- Experienced writing scripts at the network or cable level

- Sound journalistic judgment
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required
- Ability to quickly develop story, ideas, research and plan segments
- Must be detail oriented and able to work under pressure and meet multiple daily deadlines
Additional Job Requirements:
- Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news.
