The Dell Technologies Product Security Engineering Team is responsible for ensuring that all code developed at Dell is secure by default. Security Engineers are product security subject matter experts that come from a software development background and utilize their unique skillset to partner with engineering teams across the company to build security into every phase of the software development lifecycle at Dell Technologies.

What you’ll achieve

The Proactive Security Engineering Team is seeking a Security Engineer specializing in SecDevOps who will collaborate with development, operations, and security stakeholders to build and mature secure CI/CD patterns, automate security controls, and enable consistent, scalable security practices across Dell’s engineering ecosystem.

You will:

• Serve as security advisor to engineering teams, guiding them on how to incorporate secure coding practices, automated scanning, and risk‑based remediation into their existing CI/CD pipelines.

• Leverage team‑maintained SAST and SCA tools to perform assessments, analyze results, tune false positives, create baselines, and provide actionable remediation guidance.

• Develop and maintain reference architectures, best practices, and enablement materials that help teams integrate application security tooling.

• Partner with engineering teams to improve SDL control adoption, including threat awareness, dependency hygiene, vulnerability remediation, and security testing coverage.

• Build dashboards, reports, and metrics that communicate SecDevOps maturity, scanning coverage, vulnerability trends, and compliance to executive and engineering stakeholders.

Essential Requirements

• Strong understanding of DevSecOps/SecDevOps principles, secure SDLC, and modern software development practices.

• Hands-on expertise with SAST and SCA tools (e.g., Coverity, Black Duck, or similar), including configuration tuning, triage, and interpreting results.

• Proficiency in at least one development language (Python, Java, Go, or .NET), with experience supporting developers through security findings and remediation.

• Familiarity with CI/CD ecosystems (GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.) and how security tools integrate—even without direct pipeline ownership.

• Experience with container security fundamentals, cloud-native development, and Linux-based environments

Desirable Requirements

• A security or DevOps-oriented certification is required, including but not limited to:

• CISSP, CSSLP, GSEC, GCSA, Security+, or cloud/DevOps certifications (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes).
