Custodian (Contract)

Essential Functions:

• Maintains the facility and associated paperwork to meet AIB and other food safety standards.

• Sweeps, mops, scrubs and vacuums; may include hallways, stairs and office space within the distribution center.

• Empties trash and garbage containers and cleans snow and debris from walkways.

• Performs inspections of equipment and reports findings.

• Mows lawn, trims shrubbery and cultivates flower.

• May remove, charge, transport, and install hi-lo (forklift) batteries in the warehouse.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Please note this is a contract role ending October 30th, 2026.

• Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.

• Ability to read, write and communicate in English

• Ability to read and understand information on a Material Safety Data Sheet, and adhere to safety regulations and procedures

• Ability to work independently and within team environment

• Must be able to operate powered industrial vehicle (PIV), vacuum cleaner, lawn mower, gardening tools and other various types of equipment.

• Must have basic computer skills utilizing windows based software.
