About the Role
The role of the Underwriting Specialist is responsible for underwriting new prospects and completing risk analysis and due diligence on existing customers. This role is responsible for conducting legal research and managing UCC filings, including preparing, amending, and terminating financing statements, while ensuring accuracy and compliance. The position supports client onboarding and ongoing portfolio management through thorough risk analysis, due diligence, and review of buyout agreements. It collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth account transitions, maintains data accuracy across records, and upholds strict confidentiality and quality standards.
What You’ll Do
Perform legal research on UCC filings, judgments, liens, and tax obligations
File UCC-1 Financing Statements and amendments
Complete risk analysis and due diligence review of prospective new clients.
Complete UCC Tasks to terminate outstanding UCC’s from competitors, banks, and other UCC’s for prospective RTS Clients.
Perform more in-depth risk analysis for prospective new carriers who are looking to combine with current RTSF Clients within Underwriting CCG parameters.
Complete additional risk analysis on current clients. Both within the RTSF Cone process and clients that need additional due diligence review.
Review competitor buyout agreements to ensure company standards are met
File UCC-3 amendments for RTSF clients leaving RTS.
Maintain quality standards and confidentiality on all projects, client, and company matters
Work closely with the Onboarding, Sales Coordinators, Transition, Risk and Operations teams to ensure proper communication and flow of incoming accounts.
Review SOS sites quarterly for updates and accuracy with RTS client’s ownership structure.
Train new hires as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
